This medication can be used alone or in combination with other diabetes medicines. Continue taking Glynase Tablet even if you feel well or your blood sugar is under control. Stopping the medication without your doctor’s guidance can lead to a rise in blood sugar and increase the risk of complications like nerve damage, kidney issues, and limb loss. This medicine is just one part of a complete diabetes management plan that includes a healthy diet, regular exercise, and weight control, as recommended by your doctor.
Common side effects include low blood sugar (hypoglycemia), nausea, diarrhea, abdominal discomfort, dizziness, nervousness, tremors, and gas. Learn to recognize signs of low blood sugar such as sweating, shakiness, headache, and dizziness. To avoid hypoglycemia, eat regular meals and keep a fast-acting source of sugar, like fruit juice or candy, with you. Alcohol can raise your risk of low blood sugar and should be avoided. Some individuals may experience weight gain while on this medication.
Glynase is not suitable for individuals with type 1 diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis, or severe liver or kidney disease. Inform your doctor if you have a history of heart problems, thyroid disorders, or hormonal conditions, as the medication may not be appropriate. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult a doctor before use.
