Description:
Lumigan 0.01% Ophthalmic Solution is an eye medication used to lower elevated eye pressure in individuals with glaucoma or ocular hypertension. High pressure within the eye can damage the optic nerve and potentially lead to vision loss or blindness if left untreated. Lumigan works by increasing the outflow of fluid from inside the eye into the bloodstream, thereby reducing intraocular pressure.
This solution is suitable for both adults and children and may be used alone or alongside other eye medications to achieve better control of eye pressure. It is important to use Lumigan exactly as prescribed by your doctor and to continue its use regularly for the best results. Discontinuing treatment without your doctor’s advice can cause eye pressure to rise again, increasing the risk of vision damage. Before first use, ensure the seal on the bottle is intact. If you wear contact lenses, remove them before application and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting them.
Common side effects include eye redness (conjunctival hyperemia) and itching. These effects are generally mild, but if they persist or cause discomfort, consult your doctor for guidance. In rare cases, you may experience blurred vision or other temporary changes in sight, so avoid driving or operating machinery until your vision clears.
