Description:
Meftal-Spas Suspension is commonly prescribed for children to relieve stomach pain, bloating, abdominal cramps, and discomfort associated with acidity, gas, gastrointestinal infections, and conditions like irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). It works by relaxing the muscles in the digestive tract and helping absorb excess gas, thereby providing effective relief from abdominal discomfort.
This medicine should be given orally before meals or exactly as directed by your child’s doctor. The duration of treatment may vary from a few days to several days, depending on your child’s condition. However, it is important not to use Meftal-Spas Suspension for more than 2 weeks without medical supervision, as prolonged or excessive use could lead to unwanted side effects. Also, avoid stopping the medication suddenly without consulting the doctor, as symptoms may return or worsen.
Some common and generally mild side effects include nausea, vomiting, constipation, burping, drowsiness, vision problems, and loss of appetite. These usually go away as your child’s body gets used to the medicine. If any side effects persist or cause concern, contact your doctor promptly.
