Description:
Montair 4mg Chewable Tablet is commonly used to prevent asthma attacks in children. It also helps relieve breathing difficulties caused by exercise and treats allergy symptoms such as runny nose, sneezing, itching, nasal congestion, swelling, and watery eyes. This medicine should be given to your child at the same time every day, with or without food, in the dose and duration prescribed by the doctor.
For asthma, it is usually more effective when given in the evening or two hours before physical activity. For allergies, evening administration is preferred, depending on when symptoms typically begin. If your child suffers from both asthma and allergies, giving the tablet in the evening is generally recommended. If your child vomits within 30 minutes of taking the dose, you can repeat it unless it is almost time for the next scheduled dose. While your child may begin to feel better after a few regular doses, it is important to complete the full course to ensure maximum benefit. Stopping the medicine abruptly may worsen your child’s condition.
Some children may experience mild side effects such as headache, fever, stomach pain, or diarrhea, which usually go away on their own as the body adjusts. However, if these symptoms persist or become bothersome, consult your child’s doctor. Before starting the medicine, inform the doctor about any other medications your child is taking and share their complete medical history, especially any known allergies, heart conditions, blood disorders, liver or kidney issues, airway or lung problems, birth defects, or skin disorders. This will help the doctor make any necessary adjustments to ensure your child’s treatment is safe and effective.
