Description:
Clavam BID Dry Syrup is a broad-spectrum antibiotic prescribed for the treatment of bacterial infections affecting various parts of the body, such as the ear, nose, throat, chest, lungs, teeth, skin, and urinary tract. It is effective against antibiotic-resistant bacteria and can assist in the treatment of drug-resistant tuberculosis.
The syrup can be taken with or without food, though it is recommended to take it with food to enhance absorption and reduce stomach upset. The dosage is based on the severity of the infection, the child’s weight, and age, and should be followed exactly as prescribed by the doctor. If your child vomits within 30 minutes of taking the dose, it should be repeated, but the dose should not be doubled if it’s time for the next dose.
Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and mild rashes, while serious side effects like allergic reactions or severe diarrhea require immediate medical attention. It’s important to inform the doctor if your child has a history of allergies to antibiotics, liver or kidney disease, heart or blood disorders, or gastrointestinal issues. To prevent antibiotic resistance, ensure the full course of the prescribed medication is completed, and avoid mixing it with other medications without consulting a doctor.
