Description:
CTD-T 12.5/80 Tablet is a combination of two medicines designed to help control high blood pressure, which in turn lowers the risk of heart attacks and strokes.
You can take CTD-T 12.5/80 Tablet with or without food. The dosage will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine, and it’s best to take it at the same time every day. It is important to continue taking the medicine as prescribed by your doctor. Since the tablet contains a diuretic (water pill), it may cause you to urinate more frequently, so it is recommended to avoid taking it within four hours of bedtime. Use the medicine regularly for optimal results, even if you feel well, as high blood pressure typically has no symptoms. Discontinuing the medicine could increase your risk of heart attack or stroke.
The most common side effect is dizziness, but other side effects such as nausea, diarrhea, headache, and altered blood lipids may occur. While frequent urination is not a side effect, it is a result of the chlorthalidone component, which helps in controlling blood pressure. If you experience any side effects, make sure to consult your doctor. They may adjust your dosage or recommend a different medication if necessary.
This medicine is not recommended during pregnancy. Always consult your doctor before taking it if you have kidney or liver disease, heart conditions, or diabetes. Be aware that alcohol may further lower your blood pressure and could increase the risk of side effects.
