Description:
Folitrax 7.5 Tablet is a medication used to treat cancer in various parts of the body such as the breasts, head, neck, lungs, blood, bone, lymph, and uterus. It is also used for treating rheumatoid arthritis, severe and uncontrolled psoriasis, and Crohn’s disease.
This medicine may be prescribed alone or in combination with other treatments. You should take it exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Overdose can lead to serious side effects, so it’s crucial to follow the prescribed dosage. The effects may take weeks or even months to become noticeable, but it’s important not to stop taking it without consulting your doctor. Additionally, avoid consuming alcohol while using this medication, as it may increase the risk of liver damage.
Common side effects include ulcerative stomatitis (mouth sores), hair loss, low blood cell count, increased liver enzymes, nausea, and abdominal distress. Your doctor may recommend folic acid supplements to help reduce some of these side effects. If these side effects worsen or do not go away, inform your doctor. This medication can lower your ability to fight infections and affect your blood, liver, or kidneys. Your doctor may regularly monitor your condition with blood tests, X-rays, and physical examinations to check for any adverse effects.
Before starting this medicine, inform your doctor if you have any stomach, liver, or kidney issues or if you’re taking other medications to treat infections. Many drugs can interact with Folitrax, so ensure that your healthcare team is aware of all other medicines you’re using. Folitrax 7.5 Tablet is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding as it may harm the baby.
