Foracort 100 Inhaler is a combination of two medicines that helps relieve the long-term symptoms of asthma and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), making it easier to breathe. It works by inhibiting the release of chemical messengers that cause inflammation (swelling) and by relaxing the muscles in the airways.
Your doctor will guide you on how often to use the inhaler. The effect may be noticeable after a few days, but the full benefit may take a few weeks to show. It’s important to use this medicine regularly, even if you don’t have symptoms, as it works continuously to manage the condition. If you stop using it, your symptoms may worsen. However, Foracort 100 Inhaler should not be used for sudden shortness of breath; in such cases, you should use your rescue inhaler instead.
Common side effects include headache, nausea, vomiting, stomach discomfort, and respiratory tract infections. If you experience these, don’t stop using the inhaler, but speak to your doctor. Rinsing your mouth and throat or brushing your teeth after use can help prevent some of these symptoms. There are rare but serious side effects that may require medical attention, so be sure to consult your doctor if you have concerns.
