Description:
Omnacortil Forte Syrup is a corticosteroid medication used to treat a range of conditions in children, including allergies, inflammatory disorders, autoimmune conditions, hormonal imbalances, and certain types of cancer. It is also commonly prescribed for nephrotic syndrome and to support recovery after organ transplants. This syrup works by reducing inflammation and suppressing the immune system to manage these conditions effectively.
The syrup should be given with food, ideally once daily in the morning after breakfast. Dosage is tailored based on your child’s age, body weight, and medical condition, and should be followed exactly as prescribed. Do not extend the use beyond the recommended duration, and never stop the medicine abruptly, as sudden withdrawal may lead to symptoms like dizziness, vomiting, or increased thirst. If vomiting occurs within 30 minutes of taking a dose, wait until your child is calm and administer the dose again. Discontinuation should always be done gradually, under medical supervision.
Common side effects may include increased appetite, weight gain, elevated blood pressure, and mood or behavioral changes. These are typically reversible once the treatment is stopped. However, inform your doctor if these persist or become concerning. Omnacortil Forte Syrup may also lower the body’s ability to fight infections, so consult your child’s doctor if symptoms like fever or sore throat occur.
Avoid self-medicating and always follow the pediatrician’s guidance. Be sure to share your child’s complete medical history, including any heart, liver, or kidney issues, or prior allergic reactions, to help the doctor create the most effective treatment plan.
