Description:
Reclide MR 30 Tablet is a medication used to manage type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults. Belonging to the sulfonylurea class of drugs, it works by helping to lower blood sugar levels. Proper blood sugar control can help prevent long-term complications such as nerve damage, kidney problems, and vision loss.
This tablet may be used on its own or in combination with other diabetes medications. It is recommended to take it with food, preferably at the same time each day, to maximize its effectiveness. Your doctor will determine the appropriate dose for you and may adjust it depending on your response to the treatment.
Even if you begin to feel better or your blood sugar levels appear under control, continue taking the medicine as directed. Stopping it abruptly can result in your blood sugar rising again, increasing your risk for serious diabetic complications. Keep in mind that this medicine works best when combined with a balanced diet, regular physical activity, and weight management—key components of an effective diabetes management plan.
Some common side effects include digestive issues such as indigestion or upset stomach. It may also cause low blood sugar (hypoglycemia), which can present as sweating, shakiness, dizziness, or headaches. To manage this, eat meals regularly and keep a quick source of sugar—like candy or fruit juice—on hand. Alcohol consumption should be limited, as it may raise your risk of hypoglycemia. Weight gain may also occur in some individuals.
This medicine is not suitable for people with type 1 diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis, or severe kidney or liver conditions. Before starting the treatment, inform your doctor of any pre-existing health conditions like heart disease, thyroid disorders, or hormonal imbalances. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should seek medical advice before use. Regular monitoring of blood sugar levels and occasional blood tests for liver function and blood cell counts may be required during treatment.
