Description:
Sompraz IT Cap is a combination medication used in the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and functional dyspepsia, particularly when symptoms of both acid reflux and impaired gastric motility are present.
Esomeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor that significantly reduces the production of stomach acid, thereby alleviating heartburn, acid regurgitation, and healing esophageal inflammation. Itopride is a prokinetic agent that enhances gastric emptying and reduces nausea and vomiting by increasing the release of acetylcholine and inhibiting dopamine D2 receptors in the gastrointestinal tract.
The combination of esomeprazole and itopride aims to provide relief from both acid-related symptoms and motility-related symptoms such as bloating, early satiety, and upper abdominal discomfort. Sompraz IT Cap is typically taken once or twice daily, as directed by a physician, usually before meals.
