Description:
Stamlo 5mg Tablet contains a higher strength of amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker, and is indicated for the treatment of hypertension and the prophylaxis of angina. The increased dosage allows for a more pronounced antihypertensive effect and can be more effective in managing moderate to severe hypertension or more frequent and severe episodes of angina pectoris.
Amlodipine’s mechanism of action involves blocking calcium entry into vascular smooth muscle cells, leading to vasodilation and a reduction in systemic blood pressure. This decreased peripheral resistance reduces the heart’s workload.
In angina, the vasodilation of coronary arteries improves myocardial oxygen supply, thereby alleviating chest pain. The once-daily dosing regimen of Stamlo 5mg promotes convenience and adherence to treatment.
