Description:
Stugeron 25mg Tablet contains cinnarizine, an antihistamine with additional properties as a calcium channel blocker and vasodilator. It is primarily used to manage symptoms associated with various conditions related to balance disorders, motion sickness, and poor blood circulation.
Cinnarizine works by inhibiting the contraction of smooth muscle cells in blood vessels, which helps to improve blood flow in the inner ear and other parts of the body. In the inner ear, this can reduce the sensitivity of the vestibular system, which is responsible for balance, thus alleviating symptoms of vertigo (spinning sensation), dizziness, nausea, and vomiting associated with motion sickness and Meniere’s disease (an inner ear disorder).
Furthermore, cinnarizine’s antihistamine properties help to block histamine receptors, which can also contribute to motion sickness symptoms. Its action as a calcium channel blocker further aids in preventing the constriction of blood vessels, improving microcirculation, particularly in peripheral vascular disorders such as Raynaud’s phenomenon (reduced blood flow to fingers and toes in response to cold or stress) and intermittent claudication (leg pain due to poor blood flow during exercise). It may also be used as a prophylactic treatment for migraine headaches by preventing the dilation of blood vessels in the brain.
