Description:
Stugeron Forte Tablet contains a higher dose of cinnarizine compared to the 25mg tablet. It is also an antihistamine with calcium channel blocking and vasodilating properties, primarily used to treat more severe symptoms of vertigo, motion sickness, and Meniere’s disease. The higher strength aims to provide more effective relief from these conditions.
Similar to the lower dose, cinnarizine in Stugeron Forte works by improving blood flow to the inner ear by preventing the constriction of blood vessels. This action helps to reduce the frequency and intensity of vertigo episodes, alleviate dizziness, and control nausea and vomiting associated with balance disorders. In Meniere’s disease, it can also help to reduce the pressure of excess fluid in the inner ear, thereby mitigating symptoms like tinnitus (ringing in the ears) and hearing loss.
Stugeron Forte is also used to manage symptoms related to poor blood circulation in the limbs and brain, such as cold extremities, intermittent claudication, and cerebrovascular insufficiency (which can manifest as irritability, memory loss, and lack of concentration). Its calcium channel blocking activity helps to relax the smooth muscles in blood vessels, improving overall circulation.
