Description:
Telma-CT 80/6.25 Tablet is a combination medicine used to control high blood pressure. It contains two active ingredients, including a diuretic (commonly known as a water pill), which helps to lower blood pressure by removing excess fluid from the body. By effectively reducing blood pressure, this medication lowers the risk of serious complications such as heart attacks and strokes.
You can take Telma-CT 80/6.25 Tablet with or without food, but it’s important to take it at the same time each day to maintain consistent blood levels. The dose will be tailored to your condition and response to treatment. Since the medicine contains a diuretic that increases urination, it is best to avoid taking it within four hours of going to bed to prevent sleep disturbances. Even if you feel well, continue taking the medication as directed—high blood pressure often has no symptoms, and stopping treatment can increase your risk of cardiovascular events.
The most common side effect of this medicine is dizziness. Other possible side effects include nausea, diarrhea, headache, and changes in blood lipid levels. Increased urination is not a side effect but rather a function of the diuretic component, chlorthalidone, which helps regulate blood pressure. Although most side effects are mild and temporary, it’s important to consult your doctor if they persist or become bothersome. Your doctor may adjust your dose or suggest an alternative if necessary.
This medication is not recommended during pregnancy, and caution should be exercised if you have liver or kidney disease, heart conditions, or diabetes.
