Product Introduction:
Actrapid 100IU/ml Flexpen (3ml Each) is a short-acting insulin used to manage type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus by controlling blood sugar levels after meals. It is typically prescribed alongside a long-acting insulin or other diabetes medications and is most effective when used in combination with a healthy diet, regular exercise, and weight management.
The injection is administered under the skin, usually 20–30 minutes before a meal, as directed by your doctor or nurse. Do not discontinue use without medical advice, as it plays a vital role in preventing serious diabetes-related complications such as kidney damage and vision loss. Regular monitoring of blood sugar levels is essential to ensure the correct dosage and effective management of diabetes.
Common side effects include hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), cold sweats, anxiety, shakiness, hunger, rapid heartbeat, headache, nervousness, and reactions at the injection site such as redness or swelling. These symptoms may occur if meals are skipped after injecting insulin. It’s important to inject the right dose, eat on time, and avoid excessive alcohol consumption to prevent low blood sugar episodes.
Some users may also experience weight gain. This insulin should not be used during episodes of hypoglycemia. Before starting treatment, inform your doctor of any history of kidney, liver, or heart problems. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctor, as dosage adjustments may be necessary.
