Amodep AT Tablet is a combination medication used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure) and angina (chest pain). It helps control blood pressure, especially when a single medication is not sufficient. By lowering blood pressure, it also reduces the risk of future heart attacks and strokes.
You can take Amodep AT Tablet with or without food, but it’s best to take it at the same time each day to maintain consistent levels of the medicine in your body. Continue taking it for as long as prescribed by your doctor. Even if you feel fine, do not stop taking it on your own, as high blood pressure often has no symptoms. Stopping it suddenly can worsen your condition. Along with the medication, regular exercise, a healthy diet, weight reduction, and lifestyle changes will help manage your blood pressure more effectively.
Some common side effects include headache, slow heart rate, nausea, and dizziness. Because it may cause dizziness, avoid driving or engaging in activities that require mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. This medicine can also raise potassium levels in your blood, so it’s advisable to avoid foods or supplements that are high in potassium. Your doctor may ask for regular monitoring of your blood pressure, kidney function, and electrolyte levels during treatment.
