Product Description
Augmentin DDS Suspension is an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections in children, including infections of the ear, nose, throat, chest, lungs, teeth, skin, and urinary tract. It is also effective against bacteria that have developed resistance to other treatments, including drug-resistant tuberculosis.
You can administer Augmentin DDS Suspension with or without food, but giving it with food helps improve absorption and reduces the risk of stomach upset. The doctor may recommend giving it two to three times a day based on the type and severity of the infection, as well as your child?s weight and age. Always follow the prescribed dosage and schedule. If your child vomits within 30 minutes of taking the medicine, allow them to calm down and then repeat the dose. However, do not double the dose if the next scheduled dose is near.
Common side effects may include vomiting, diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain, and allergic reactions. These effects are usually mild and resolve on their own, but if they persist or become bothersome, consult your child?s doctor.
Before starting treatment, inform the doctor about your child?s complete medical history, including any previous allergies, heart conditions, blood disorders, birth defects, airway obstructions, lung abnormalities, gastrointestinal issues, skin disorders, liver impairment, or kidney problems. Providing this information will help the doctor determine the correct dosage and ensure safe and effective treatment.
