Avipart 12.5mg Tablet PR is an antidepressant classified under the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) group of medications. It is commonly prescribed for the treatment of depression and various anxiety-related disorders such as obsessive-compulsive disorder and panic disorder. The medication works by enhancing mood and alleviating anxiety and tension, thereby helping individuals recover from depression. It can be taken with or without food, and the appropriate dosage and frequency will be determined by your doctor based on your specific symptoms. Typically, treatment begins with a lower dose that may be gradually increased.
It is important not to change the dosage or stop taking the medication without consulting your doctor, even if you start to feel better, as doing so can worsen your condition or lead to withdrawal symptoms like anxiety, restlessness, palpitations, dizziness, and sleep disturbances. For optimal results, Avipart should be taken regularly at the same time each day. If you have trouble sleeping, your doctor may advise you to take it in the morning. Common side effects include nausea, fatigue, dry mouth, reduced appetite, excessive sweating, dizziness, nervousness, tremors, insomnia, and constipation. Notify your doctor immediately if you experience a sudden decline in mood or have thoughts of self-harm.
Before beginning treatment, inform your doctor if you have any existing health conditions such as epilepsy, diabetes, liver or kidney disease, heart problems, or glaucoma, as these may impact your treatment. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should also seek medical advice before starting the medication. Additionally, other medicines, especially antidepressants and monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitors, can interact with Avipart, so be sure to inform your doctor about all medications you are currently taking.
