Description:
Azopt Ophthalmic Suspension is used to lower high eye pressure in individuals suffering from glaucoma or ocular hypertension, conditions that can lead to vision loss if left untreated. By reducing eye pressure, this medication helps protect your vision. To use the suspension, shake the bottle well and wash your hands before applying the drops. Remove contact lenses prior to instilling the drops and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting them. It is important to continue using the medication as prescribed by your doctor, as stopping without medical advice can lead to uncontrolled eye pressure.
Common side effects may include blurred vision, a bitter taste, shortness of breath, dizziness, tiredness, and heart palpitations. If blurred vision occurs, avoid driving or operating heavy machinery until your vision clears.
This medication should not be used if you have severe kidney issues or an allergy to sulphonamides. If you have liver disease, dry eyes, or corneal problems, inform your doctor before use. Azopt is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, and it is important to avoid using other eye medications unless specifically prescribed by your doctor. Always consult your healthcare provider if you have concerns or experience any side effects.
