Clopivas 300mg Tablet is an antiplatelet medication, commonly referred to as a blood thinner, used to prevent the formation of harmful blood clots within the blood vessels. By reducing the risk of clot formation, it helps lower the chances of serious cardiovascular events such as heart attacks and strokes. It is frequently prescribed for individuals at high risk of heart disease, including those with peripheral vascular disease, a history of heart attack or stroke, irregular heart rhythms, or patients who have undergone procedures like stent placement. Clopivas 300 is also used alongside other medications to manage certain heart conditions such as unstable angina or heart attacks.
The tablet can be taken with or without food, but it is important to take it at the same time every day to maintain consistent levels in the body. Continuing the medication as prescribed, even if you feel well, is crucial—discontinuation without medical advice may raise the risk of a heart attack or stroke. The most common side effect associated with this medicine is bleeding, which may manifest as easy bruising, nosebleeds, blood in urine or stools, or heavier-than-normal menstrual bleeding in women. In case of minor cuts or injuries, bleeding may take longer to stop, but this is usually mild and self-limiting. However, any persistent or concerning bleeding should be reported to your doctor.
Clopivas 300 may not be suitable for everyone. It should not be taken if you are currently experiencing active bleeding, such as from a stomach ulcer or brain hemorrhage. Before starting this medicine, inform your doctor if you have a history of blood clotting issues, recent surgeries, or serious injuries. The medication may need to be paused temporarily before planned surgeries or dental procedures.
