Description:
CTD-O 6.25/20 Tablet is a combination medication used to manage high blood pressure through two different mechanisms. Effective blood pressure control is essential, as untreated hypertension can lead to serious complications such as heart attacks, strokes, and kidney failure.
This medicine can be taken with or without food, but it should be taken at the same time each day to maintain consistent levels in your body. Since it contains a diuretic (water pill) that increases urination, it’s best to avoid taking it within four hours of bedtime to prevent nighttime trips to the bathroom. Continue taking this medicine regularly, even if you feel well, as high blood pressure typically has no noticeable symptoms. Stopping the medicine without medical advice could raise your risk of cardiovascular events.
Dizziness is the most commonly reported side effect. Other potential side effects include fatigue, nausea, diarrhea, headache, and low blood pressure. Increased urination is expected and is a therapeutic effect of chlorthalidone, which helps in controlling blood pressure. Most side effects are mild and temporary, but if any persist or become troublesome, consult your doctor. Dose adjustments or alternative medications may be considered if necessary.
This medicine is not recommended during pregnancy, and you should consult your doctor before starting it if you have liver or kidney disease, heart problems, or diabetes. Additionally, alcohol consumption should be limited, as it may enhance the blood pressure-lowering effect and increase side effects. Always follow your doctor’s instructions and review the medication leaflet for further guidance.
