Description:
Divaa-OD 500 Tablet ER is prescribed to manage epilepsy by preventing and controlling seizures (fits). It is also effective in preventing migraines and is occasionally used to treat bipolar disorder.
This medication can be taken on its own or alongside other treatments, depending on your condition. Your doctor will determine the appropriate dose and frequency to best manage your symptoms. It can be taken with or without food, but for optimal results, try to take it at the same time each day.
The effects of this medicine may take a few weeks to become noticeable. It’s essential to take it consistently for as long as your doctor recommends—even if you start to feel better. Missing doses may trigger seizures, and abruptly stopping the medication could worsen your condition.
Common side effects include headache, blurred vision, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, fatigue, unsteadiness, bruising, and a drop in body temperature. Most of these side effects are mild and temporary. Continue taking the medicine, but consult your doctor if any side effects persist or cause discomfort. If you develop a skin rash or redness, inform your doctor immediately.
Long-term use may reduce bone density (osteoporosis), increasing the risk of fractures. In rare cases, this medicine may also cause mood changes or lead to suicidal thoughts. Let your doctor know if you experience signs of depression or any changes in your mental health.
