Description:
Domstal Suspension is a pediatric medicine used to treat indigestion, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), nausea, and vomiting in children. It works by increasing the movement of food through the stomach and intestines, helping to relieve symptoms like bloating, fullness, and discomfort.
The suspension is usually given half an hour before each meal for best results. While it can still work if given after meals, the absorption may be less effective. For infants, the doctor may advise administering it up to four times a day, usually before feeds. Make sure to leave at least a 4-hour gap between doses. If your child vomits within 30 minutes of taking the medicine, you may give the same dose again after your child calms down—but avoid double dosing if the next dose is due soon.
Some minor and temporary side effects may include dry mouth, headache, drowsiness, stomach cramps, and diarrhea. These typically resolve as your child’s body gets used to the medicine. If the side effects persist or seem severe, consult your doctor.
Before starting Domstal Suspension, let your child’s doctor know about any history of allergies, heart issues, blood disorders, birth defects, airway or lung problems, gastrointestinal conditions, or liver or kidney impairments. Sharing your child’s full medical history ensures appropriate dosing and safe treatment planning.
