Description:

Esogress 40 Tablet is used to treat conditions caused by excess stomach acid, including gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcer disease, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. It works by reducing acid production in the stomach, thereby relieving symptoms like heartburn and promoting the healing of ulcers and inflammation.

It may also be prescribed to prevent stomach ulcers caused by the long-term use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).

How to Use

Take Esogress 40 Tablet exactly as prescribed by your doctor. It is usually taken on an empty stomach, preferably in the morning or at least 1 hour before a meal. Even if your symptoms improve, continue the medication for the full duration advised by your doctor.

If you are on long-term treatment, your doctor may recommend routine blood tests to monitor your magnesium levels, as prolonged use can sometimes lead to low magnesium.

Common Side Effects

• Constipation or diarrhea

• Stomach pain

• Nausea

These side effects are generally mild and temporary, but inform your doctor if they persist or cause discomfort. Long-term use of this medication may slightly increase the risk of bone fractures, especially in older adults.

Diet and Lifestyle Tips

To get better results:

• Avoid spicy, fatty, or rich foods that worsen symptoms

• Reduce intake of caffeinated drinks (tea, coffee, cola) and alcohol

• Eat smaller, more frequent meals

• Do not lie down right after eating

Precautions

Before starting Esogress 40 Tablet, inform your doctor if you:

• Have severe liver issues

• Are taking HIV medications

• Have a history of osteoporosis or frequent bone fractures

• Have had an allergic reaction to similar medications

This medicine may cause drowsiness, dizziness, or blurred vision in some people. If affected, avoid driving or using heavy machinery until you feel better.

Although alcohol does not interfere with how this medicine works, it can increase stomach acid production and worsen your condition.

Esogress 40 Tablet is generally not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless clearly advised by your doctor.
