Description:
Gluxit M 10/500 Tab is a combination oral antidiabetic medication used to lower blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes. It contains two active ingredients: glipizide and metformin hydrochloride. Glipizide is a sulfonylurea that stimulates the pancreas to release more insulin.
Metformin hydrochloride is a biguanide that reduces glucose production in the liver and improves insulin sensitivity. The “10/500” indicates that each tablet contains 10mg of glipizide and 500mg of metformin hydrochloride.
This combination is often used when blood sugar is not adequately controlled with either medication alone. Gluxit M is usually taken once or twice daily with meals. Common side effects may include hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) and gastrointestinal disturbances. Regular monitoring of blood glucose levels is essential.
