Description:
Inderal LA 20 Tablet SR is a long-acting beta-blocker that helps reduce anxiety and control tremors. It is also prescribed for the prevention of migraines, relief from heart-related chest pain (angina), and to manage bleeding in the stomach due to high blood pressure in the liver (a condition known as portal hypertension). Additionally, it may be used to treat high blood pressure and certain types of irregular heartbeats (arrhythmias).
The dosage of Inderal LA 20 Tablet SR depends on the specific medical condition and individual response to the treatment. It should always be taken as directed by your doctor, ideally on an empty stomach and at the same time each day. Even if you feel better, continue taking the medicine, as stopping it suddenly can lead to a worsening of your condition.
Common side effects include tiredness, weakness, cold fingers and toes (Raynaud’s phenomenon), a slow or irregular heartbeat, numbness in the fingers, and breathlessness. You might also experience nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea. These effects are usually mild and temporary, but if they persist or become bothersome, consult your doctor.
This medication should be avoided if you have asthma, very slow or irregular heartbeats, or a serious heart condition such as heart failure. Inform your doctor if you have liver or kidney problems, or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), before starting the medication. Alcohol can interfere with the effectiveness of Inderal LA and should be avoided. Also, avoid driving or operating heavy machinery if the medicine causes dizziness. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult your doctor before taking this medicine.
