Influvac Tetra 2024/2025 Vaccine is an annual influenza vaccine that helps protect against seasonal flu by stimulating the immune system to produce antibodies against the virus. It contains inactivated strains of the influenza virus, which help the body develop immunity without causing illness. This vaccine does not treat an existing flu infection but helps prevent it or reduce its severity.
It is administered as an injection into the muscle by a healthcare professional, usually before the onset of the flu season. One dose is typically sufficient to provide protection for the entire year, but annual vaccination is recommended due to the constant mutation of flu virus strains. This vaccine is especially important for older adults, young children over six months, and individuals with chronic medical conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, kidney issues, or chronic lung diseases like COPD.
Common side effects are generally mild and temporary. These may include headache, muscle and joint pain, fatigue, shivering, sweating, bruising, and soreness or swelling at the injection site. These effects usually resolve on their own. If symptoms persist or worsen, it is advisable to consult a doctor.
Before getting vaccinated, inform your healthcare provider if you are currently unwell with a fever or if you’ve had a previous allergic reaction to a flu vaccine. Let your doctor know about any other medications you’re taking, as interactions may occur.
