Description:
Latoprost Eye Drop is an ophthalmic medication used to lower elevated pressure in the eyes, commonly associated with conditions like glaucoma and ocular hypertension. Elevated eye pressure can damage the optic nerve and lead to vision loss or blindness if left untreated. Latoprost works by improving the natural flow of fluid from inside the eye into the bloodstream, thereby reducing intraocular pressure.
This eye drop is suitable for use in both adults and children, and it may be prescribed alone or along with other medications to effectively control eye pressure. To get the most benefit, it should be used exactly as directed by your doctor and at the same time each day. Do not stop using the drops without consulting your doctor, as doing so could result in increased pressure and further damage to your eyesight. Always check the seal before the first use, and avoid using the drop if the seal is broken. If you wear contact lenses, remove them before applying the drops and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting them.
Common side effects include changes in eyelashes (such as lengthening or darkening), eye discomfort or pain, sensitivity to light, and blurred vision. Some people may also experience dryness, a gradual change in eye color, or other less common reactions. If any side effects persist or worsen, speak with your doctor. You should avoid driving or operating machinery if your vision is blurred after application. Latoprost Eye Drop should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless specifically advised by your doctor.
