Description:
Meftal-P Suspension is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) formulated specifically for infants and children to help reduce fever, pain, and inflammation. It works by blocking the action of certain chemical messengers in the body that are responsible for causing these symptoms. Meftal-P is commonly used to manage discomfort associated with common childhood illnesses such as colds, flu, and minor injuries.
To ensure its effectiveness and safety, it is important to give Meftal-P Suspension exactly as prescribed by the doctor. Administer it orally, preferably after meals, to minimize the risk of stomach upset. Try to maintain a consistent dosing schedule. If your child vomits within 30 minutes of taking a dose, you may repeat the same dose. However, do not give more than the recommended amount in an attempt to achieve quicker relief, as this can lead to unwanted side effects.
Some common side effects your child may experience include nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, heartburn, and diarrhea. These are usually mild and resolve on their own as the body adjusts to the medicine. If any of these effects persist or worsen, consult your child’s doctor promptly.
Before starting Meftal-P Suspension, inform the pediatrician if your child has any known allergies, or a history of heart problems, liver or kidney disease, lung conditions, birth defects, or bleeding disorders. This helps the doctor determine the appropriate dose and ensure safe use of the medication as part of your child’s overall treatment plan.
