Product Description
Ondem Syrup is a medication commonly used to treat nausea and vomiting in children. It is particularly effective in managing vomiting associated with surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, or stomach/intestinal infections. It can also be used to address vomiting caused by side effects from medications such as painkillers.
Ondem Syrup can be given before or after meals, depending on the situation. For chemotherapy-induced vomiting, administer the syrup 30 minutes before the procedure. For radiotherapy, give it 1 to 2 hours prior, and for surgery, administer it 1 hour before the procedure to prevent post-operative vomiting. If your child vomits the medicine within 30 minutes of taking it, calmly repeat the dose. However, do not double the dose if it is already time for the next scheduled dose.
While the syrup is generally well-tolerated, it may cause temporary side effects such as headache, constipation, diarrhea, and fatigue. These side effects usually subside as your child’s body adjusts to the medication. If they persist or become bothersome, contact your doctor promptly.
It is important to inform the doctor about all the medications your child is currently taking, including painkillers, antibiotics, or medications for depression. Additionally, let the doctor know if your child has a history of liver or kidney problems, gastrointestinal blockages, heart issues, or allergies to medications or food. This information is crucial for determining the appropriate dosage and ensuring the overall safety and effectiveness of your child’s treatment plan.
