Description:
Optimoist Ophthalmic Gel is an eye lubricant, commonly known as artificial tears, used to relieve symptoms of dry eyes caused by decreased tear production. It helps soothe irritation, burning, and discomfort by keeping the eyes properly lubricated and protected.
Typically, this gel is used as needed, following your doctor’s instructions. Apply the prescribed number of drops directly into the affected eye(s). Be sure to wash your hands before use and avoid touching the dropper tip to prevent contamination. If you’re using other eye medications, wait 5–10 minutes between applications to avoid dilution. Do not use the product if the seal is broken before first use. This gel can be safely used for extended periods as needed for ongoing relief.
Common side effects include temporary blurred vision, eye redness, irritation, or mild eye pain. These symptoms are generally short-lived, but if they persist or worsen, consult your doctor. Avoid driving or operating machinery until your vision clears.
While Optimoist Gel is unlikely to interact with other medications, inform your doctor if you have a history of glaucoma or develop an eye infection during use. Also, it should not be used while wearing soft contact lenses—remove lenses before application and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting them.
