Product Description
Ovral L Tablet is a combination oral contraceptive used to prevent pregnancy and manage irregular menstrual cycles. It works by preventing ovulation and blocking fertilization of the egg by sperm.
This medication can be taken with or without food, but should be taken at the same time every day to maximize effectiveness.
Start the tablet on day one of your menstrual cycle and continue taking one daily for the full cycle. Begin a new pack immediately after finishing the current one. If you vomit within 4 hours of taking a tablet, take another dose. In case you miss a dose and are more than 12 hours late, use additional contraception such as condoms for the next 2 days.
Common side effects include nausea, headache, constipation, fatigue, and breast discomfort. These are usually mild, but consult your doctor if they persist or worsen. Some women may experience spotting, missed periods, or breakthrough bleeding. Report serious symptoms like limb swelling, chest pain, shortness of breath, or vision changes, as they may indicate a blood clot.
Before starting Ovral L, inform your doctor if you smoke and are over 35, or have a history of heart problems, cancer (especially of the uterus, cervix, or vagina), or other medical conditions. Also, disclose any other medications you’re taking, as interactions may reduce its effectiveness. This medicine should not be used if you are already pregnant or breastfeeding.
