Description:
Pantocid 80 Dual-Release Tablet is a medication used to reduce the production of stomach acid and is commonly prescribed for acid-related conditions such as heartburn, acid reflux, peptic ulcer disease, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. It helps provide relief from symptoms while promoting the healing of the stomach lining. Additionally, Pantocid 80 Dual-Release Tablet is used to prevent stomach ulcers and acidity caused by long-term use of painkillers. This medication belongs to a class of drugs known as proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). It should be taken one hour before a meal, ideally in the morning, to be most effective. The dose will depend on your medical condition and how you respond to the treatment. It is crucial to follow your doctor’s instructions and continue the medication as prescribed, even if you start feeling better, as stopping the medication prematurely could lead to a recurrence of symptoms.
Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, headache, dizziness, flatulence, diarrhea, and stomach pain. These effects are usually mild and temporary, but if they persist or worsen, consult your doctor. Long-term use of this medicine can increase the risk of side effects, such as bone fractures, especially when taken at higher doses for more than a year. Your doctor may suggest taking calcium and vitamin D supplements to prevent bone loss (osteoporosis).
Before using Pantocid 80 Dual-Release Tablet, inform your doctor if you have severe liver problems, are taking medicines for HIV, have had an allergic reaction to similar medications in the past, or suffer from osteoporosis. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before taking this medication.
