Prax 10 Tablet is an antiplatelet medication, commonly known as a blood thinner, that helps prevent the formation of harmful blood clots and ensures smooth blood flow. It is primarily used to reduce the risk of heart attacks and strokes in individuals with heart disease. This medication is prescribed for patients who have recently experienced a heart attack or severe heart-related chest pain (unstable angina) and those who have undergone heart stent placement. By preventing blood clots from forming in stents, it helps lower the chances of serious heart-related complications.
Prax 10 Tablet is often taken alongside aspirin, another antiplatelet drug, and can be consumed with or without food. It is important to take this medicine regularly at the same time each day, even if you feel well, as stopping it may increase the risk of another heart attack or stroke.
The most common side effect of this medication is bleeding, which may appear as bruising, nosebleeds, blood in urine, black-colored stools, or heavier menstrual bleeding in women. Minor bleeding episodes usually resolve on their own, but if bleeding persists or becomes concerning, consult a doctor immediately.
This medicine is not suitable for individuals with active bleeding conditions, such as stomach ulcers or brain hemorrhages, or those with severe liver disease. Before starting treatment, inform your doctor if you have a history of clotting disorders, recent surgery, or a serious injury. Additionally, this medication may need to be temporarily discontinued before planned surgeries or dental procedures.
