Description:
Silogreat M 25mg/8mg Tablet ER is a combination medicine used in the management of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)—a condition that leads to an enlarged prostate gland in men. Although it does not shrink the prostate, it effectively relieves urinary symptoms such as difficulty in urination, weak stream, or frequent urge to urinate.
This medicine should be taken at the same time each day, with or without food, as prescribed by your doctor. The tablet should be swallowed whole without crushing or chewing. It is important to complete the full course of treatment and not stop abruptly without consulting your doctor, even if symptoms improve, as this could worsen your condition.
Common side effects may include retrograde ejaculation, dizziness, headache, diarrhea, orthostatic hypotension (drop in blood pressure when standing), nasopharyngitis, and nasal congestion. If these effects persist or become bothersome, seek medical advice.
To enhance treatment outcomes, simple lifestyle adjustments can be helpful, such as avoiding caffeine or alcohol close to bedtime, not straining while urinating, and maintaining regular follow-ups with your doctor. Prior to starting this medication, inform your healthcare provider about any other medications you are taking and if you have liver or kidney issues. Additionally, if you are scheduled for eye surgery (for cataracts or glaucoma), inform your ophthalmologist about your use of this medicine.
