Description:
Sodox Tab contains doxycycline, a tetracycline antibiotic. Doxycycline works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, thereby preventing the growth and multiplication of susceptible bacteria. It is a broad-spectrum antibiotic effective against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, as well as some other microorganisms.
Sodox Tab is used to treat various bacterial infections, including respiratory tract infections (such as pneumonia and bronchitis), skin and soft tissue infections, sexually transmitted infections (like chlamydia and gonorrhea), Lyme disease, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, and malaria (for prevention). The dosage and duration of treatment depend on the type and severity of the infection. Doxycycline is usually taken orally, once or twice daily, and it is often recommended to take it with plenty of water and to remain upright for at least 30 minutes after taking it to prevent esophageal irritation. Common side effects may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and increased sensitivity to sunlight. It can also cause tooth discoloration in young children if used long-term.
