Description:

T Bact Ointment contains mupirocin, a topical antibiotic. Mupirocin works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, specifically by binding to bacterial isoleucyl-tRNA synthetase. This action prevents the bacteria from producing essential proteins, thereby stopping their growth and eventually killing them.

Mupirocin is effective against a wide range of gram-positive bacteria, including Staphylococcus aureus (including methicillin-resistant strains, MRSA) and Streptococcus pyogenes, which are common causes of skin infections.

T Bact Ointment is primarily used for the treatment of superficial bacterial skin infections such as impetigo, folliculitis, and furunculosis (boils). It is applied topically to the affected area of the skin, usually two to three times a day for a duration specified by a healthcare professional, typically ranging from a few days to a week. The area to be treated should be clean and dry before application.

Common side effects associated with mupirocin are usually mild and localized to the application site. These can include burning, stinging, itching, or redness of the skin. Allergic reactions, although rare, are also possible. If a patient experiences signs of an allergic reaction, such as rash, swelling, or difficulty breathing, they should discontinue use and seek medical attention immediately.
