Description:
Taxim-O Dry Syrup Juicy Orange and Lemon is an antibiotic prescribed primarily to children to treat various bacterial infections. These infections may affect areas such as the ear, eyes, nose, throat, lungs, skin, gastrointestinal tract, and urinary tract. It is also used to treat uncomplicated typhoid fever in children and adolescents.
For optimal absorption, this medication is best administered one hour before or two hours after meals. However, if your child experiences stomach upset, it may be taken with food. The dosage and duration of treatment depend on the specific infection and its severity, so it’s crucial to follow the prescribed dose, time, and method. If your child vomits within 30 minutes of taking the syrup, you can repeat the same dose, but avoid doubling the dose if it’s time for the next one.
This medication should not be used for viral infections such as the common cold or flu, as antibiotics do not treat viral conditions. It is only prescribed for a cough or cold if a secondary bacterial infection is diagnosed.
Side effects are generally mild and temporary, including vomiting, diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain, flatulence, and allergic reactions. If these side effects persist or worsen, consult your child’s doctor promptly.
Before starting treatment, provide your child’s complete medical history to the doctor, including any allergies, heart problems, blood disorders, or liver and kidney issues, as this information helps in adjusting the dosage and planning the treatment.
