Description:
Travatan Eye Drops contain travoprost, which belongs to a class of medicines known as prostaglandin analogs. It is used to reduce elevated pressure in the eye in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. Glaucoma is a condition where increased fluid pressure inside the eye can damage the optic nerve and lead to vision loss.
Ocular hypertension refers to higher than normal pressure inside the eye without detectable optic nerve damage. Travoprost works by increasing the outflow of the natural fluid (aqueous humor) from the eye, thereby lowering the intraocular pressure.
The usual dosage of Travatan Eye Drops is one drop in the affected eye(s) once daily, preferably in the evening. It’s important to use the drops consistently as prescribed by an ophthalmologist for effective management of eye pressure.
