Description:
Tribet 2 Tab is a combination oral antidiabetic medication used in the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. It contains two active ingredients: glibenclamide and metformin hydrochloride. Glibenclamide is a sulfonylurea that works by stimulating the pancreas to release more insulin, helping to lower blood glucose levels.
Metformin hydrochloride is a biguanide that reduces glucose production in the liver and improves the body’s sensitivity to insulin. By combining these two different mechanisms of action, Tribet 2 helps to achieve better glycemic control in patients with type 2 diabetes.
It is usually taken orally with meals, with the dosage and frequency determined by a physician based on individual blood glucose levels and response to treatment. Common side effects can include hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), gastrointestinal disturbances such as nausea and diarrhea, and weight gain (primarily due to glibenclamide). Regular monitoring of blood glucose levels is essential during treatment.
