Tusq-X Plus Expectorant is an effective medication used to treat wet cough (cough with mucus) in children. The medicine should be given orally, with or without food, though administering it with food can help reduce the risk of stomach upset. Depending on your child’s condition and the severity of the illness, the treatment may last from a few days to several weeks. It is important to continue the medication for the full prescribed course, even if your child starts feeling better. Do not stop it abruptly or exceed the recommended dose in an attempt to speed up recovery, as this may cause adverse effects.
If your child vomits shortly after taking the medicine, allow them to settle and then repeat the dose. However, if the next scheduled dose is near, skip the repeated dose and continue as directed—never double up. Avoid using Tusq-X Plus Expectorant over an extended period without medical supervision, and always check the label carefully. It should not be combined with other cold or flu medications unless advised by your child’s doctor, as this could lead to unwanted side effects.
Common temporary side effects may include excessive salivation, fatigue, headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach discomfort, irregular heartbeat, rashes, tremors, or tingling in the hands or feet. If any concerning symptoms occur, contact your child’s doctor immediately.
