Description
Manufacturer:
Abbott India Pvt Ltd
Salt Composition:
Ursodeoxycholic Acid (300mg)
Description:
Udiliv 300mg Tab and Udiliv 150 mg Tab contain ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA), a naturally occurring bile acid. UDCA works by reducing the cholesterol content of bile and promoting the dissolution of small, cholesterol-rich gallstones in patients with a functioning gallbladder.
It is also used in the treatment of primary biliary cirrhosis (PBC), a chronic liver disease where it helps to improve liver function. The dosage depends on the specific condition being treated and the patient’s weight, as determined by a hepatologist or gastroenterologist.
Udiliv tablets are typically taken multiple times a day with meals. While generally well-tolerated, some common side effects can include diarrhea and nausea. Ursocol can also affect liver enzyme levels, so regular monitoring may be required.
