Salt Composition:
Ursodeoxycholic Acid (UDCA)
Description:
Udiliv-450mg Tablet contains ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA), a naturally occurring bile acid. UDCA is used to treat certain liver disorders, primarily primary biliary cirrhosis (PBC), a chronic disease of the liver’s bile ducts. It works by reducing the cholesterol content of bile and may help to protect liver cells from damage.
UDCA is also used to dissolve small cholesterol gallstones in patients who are not candidates for gallbladder surgery and to treat intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy (ICP), a liver condition that can develop during pregnancy.
The 450mg strength is one of the available dosages. Udiliv is usually taken orally, and the dosage and frequency depend on the specific condition being treated and the patient’s weight. Common side effects are generally mild and may include diarrhea. Regular monitoring of liver function tests is usually recommended during treatment with UDCA.
