Description:
Urimax 0.2 Capsule MR is an alpha-adrenergic antagonist used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), a condition that leads to difficulty in passing urine. It works by relaxing the muscles in the prostate and the bladder neck, improving urine flow. However, it does not reduce the size of the prostate. It should be taken as prescribed by the doctor, either with or without food, and consistently at the same time each day. The capsule should be swallowed whole and not chewed or crushed. It’s important not to stop the medication without consulting a doctor, as doing so may worsen symptoms.
Common side effects include dizziness, back pain, chest pain, ejaculation disorders, and retrograde ejaculation. If any side effects persist or become bothersome, it’s essential to consult a healthcare provider. Alongside medication, lifestyle changes, such as urinating as soon as you feel the urge and avoiding caffeinated or alcoholic beverages before bedtime, can help manage symptoms. Additionally, patients should avoid straining when trying to empty the bladder.
Before starting treatment, inform your doctor if you are on any other medications or have a history of liver disease. If you need eye surgery for cataracts or glaucoma, inform your eye doctor about using this medication. Regular follow-ups may be required for patients with liver conditions to ensure the medication is being used safely.
