Description:
Voglimac GM 2 MG Tablet is a triple combination oral antidiabetic medication used to lower blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes. It contains three active ingredients with different mechanisms of action: voglibose, glimepiride, and metformin hydrochloride.
Voglibose is an alpha-glucosidase inhibitor that slows down the digestion and absorption of carbohydrates in the small intestine, helping to reduce post-meal blood glucose spikes. Glimepiride is a sulfonylurea that stimulates the pancreas to release more insulin.
Metformin hydrochloride is a biguanide that reduces glucose production in the liver and improves insulin sensitivity in the body’s tissues. The “GM 2” likely indicates the strengths of glimepiride (2mg) and metformin (the strength of metformin can vary, so the packaging should be checked for the exact amount).
Voglimac GM is usually taken orally, typically before meals. Common side effects may include hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), gastrointestinal disturbances (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain), and flatulence. Regular monitoring of blood glucose levels is essential while taking this medication.
