Description:
Xarelto 20mg Tablet is an anticoagulant (blood thinner) that helps prevent and treat blood clots, reducing the risk of stroke and heart attack. It is commonly prescribed to patients with atrial fibrillation (irregular heart rhythm) to prevent clot formation and is also used to reduce the risk of blood clots after knee or hip replacement surgeries. Xarelto works by preventing clot formation in the veins of the legs, lungs, brain, and heart. It should be taken with or without food, at the same time each day, for maximum effectiveness. The treatment may last for many years, or even for life, depending on the individual’s condition.
It is crucial not to stop or adjust the dose without consulting your doctor, as doing so can increase the risk of heart attack, stroke, or blood clots. In addition to medication, adopting a healthy lifestyle with no smoking, a nutritious diet, regular exercise, and weight management can further help reduce the risk of blood clots.
The most common side effect is an increased tendency to bleed, such as nosebleeds or bruising. If you experience any unusual bleeding, contact your doctor immediately. Xarelto is not suitable for individuals with severe kidney or liver problems, active bleeding, or those on other blood-thinning medications. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should avoid using this medication. Unlike other blood thinners, regular blood tests (PT-INR) are not required while taking Xarelto.
